Research Fellow in Childhood and Youth

Are you an ambitious early career researcher with a track record in high-quality research on education and contemporary challenges children and young people are facing locally and/or globally? Do you have experience of writing high-quality research funding applications or organising cross-sectoral projects aiming at achieving broader impact beyond academia? Do you want to further your research career in one of the UK’s leading research-intensive Universities?

Applications are invited for a Post-Doc Research Fellowship in the Centre for Childhood, Education and Social Justice to:

(a) Develop and support research funding applications in collaboration with colleagues within the Centre, and

(b) Support existing research as well as conduct new primary research, which may involve relevant fields such as education, psychology, sociology and anthropology of childhood as well as inter- and trans-disciplinary collaboration.

You will have experience of writing high-quality research funding applications and undertaking research and/or of organising cross-sectoral projects addressing contemporary challenges children and young people are facing locally and/or globally.

While this position requires full time presence at the University of Leeds, some travel within the United Kingdom and overnight stays will be involved and travel overseas may also be required. You will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and will demonstrate an ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

As part of your application, please submit copies of your two strongest publications. These should represent your best work in terms of originality, significance, and rigour and both should be published since January 2014. One could be a draft that has been submitted or is close to submission.
